Colorful Flamingo

I made this card with a newly-released flamingo and sentiment stamp from Class Act, Inc.  I colored the flamingo with brightly colored Copic markers.  The papers used are Kiwi Kiss from Stampin Up, yellow and pink from Mark's Finest Papers, and patterned papers by My Mind's Eye.  I used a Martha Stewart punch to make the grass and finished the card by adding rhinestones and a layered flower.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Bearded Iris

I made this card for CC324 at Splitcoaststampers.  We were to use Soft Suede, Baja Breeze, and Perfect Plum.  I used those colors in addition to patterned paper by Basic Grey.  The stamp is from the "Bearded Iris" stamp set by Mark's Finest Papers.  I stamped the iris in black then colored it with Copic markers.  I completed the card by adding a bow made with Baja Breeze ribbon.  I'm so glad that Stampin Up brought this color back, as it is one of my favorite blues.

Antique Truck

I made this card for two challenges at Splitcoaststampers: SC334 and IC286.  I was inspired by the colors and patterns in this napkin: http://www.platesandnapkins.com/pan/bandanarama-lunch-paper-napkin.html
For my card, I used two stamp sets by Mark's Finest Papers: "Big Boy Toys" and "Background Fun."  I stamped the image in black then colored it with Copic markers.  The tan panel was embossed with a Stampin Up embossing folder.

Time Flies

I made this card for IC286 at Splitcoaststampers.  I was inspired by this time piece napkin: http://www.platesandnapkins.com/pan/time-piece-beverage-napkins.html  For my card, I used a pocket watch and sentiment stamp by Class Act, Inc.  I wanted to create a vintage distressed look for this card.  To do this, I used Tim Holtz distress inks along with masculine papers by Bo Bunny.  I completed the card by adding two antique-like brads.

Clean and Simple Western

I made this card for CAS120, a clean and simple sketch challenge at Splitcoaststampers.  I used the "Southwest Cowboy" stamp set by Mark's Finest Papers.  The card stock is from Mark's Finest Papers and the patterned paper is from Kaiser Craft.  I used a Cuttlebug star embossing strip on the green paper.  I completed the card by adding some twine and a coordinating sentiment.

Get Well Zuri

I made this card for CAS120, a clean and simple sketch challenge at Splitcoaststampers.  I used the "African Veldt" stamp set by Mark's Finest Papers.
There is a baby giraffe that was born seven weeks ago at my local zoo, the Cincinnati Zoo.  She was 10 feet tall when she was born!  The other day, they discovered that little Zuri broke one of her back legs.  Her leg is now is a cast and they are unsure of how her recovery will go.  I am going to send this card to the zoo as a get well wish for Zuri's speedy recovery.

Proud Eagle

I made this card for sketch challenge 333 (SC333) at Splitcoaststampers.  I used the "Regal and Proud" stamp set by Mark's Finest Papers.  I really like this eagle stamp!  I used brown card stock and patterned papers by Pink Paislee.  For a regal touch, I used a crown border punch by Martha Stewart.

Jungle Cat

I made this card for several challenges at Splitcoaststampers: SC332 and IC283.  I used a lion stamp from Class Act, Inc.  The papers are textured papers from The Paper Studio.  I thought it would be fun to make a masculine card then add a splash of hot pink.  I completed the card by adding antique-like brads.

Today, we are featuring the "Big Boy Toys" stamp set:
The great thing about this stamp set is that you can color in the truck images or leave them uncolored and they look equally as great!  I chose to go clean and simple and leave my stamped truck uncolored.  I used black Staz On to stamp the tread marks onto twill.  I completed the card by stamping the sentiment in red and punching it out with an oval punch.

Class Act Challenge Day

Today is the start of a new challenge for Class Act, Inc. stamps! Today's challenge is to make a masculine card using real or faux stitching. Head over to the Class Act, Inc. blog to check out the challenge details and to see the beautiful creations by my fellow design team members.

For my card, I used a wolf stamp from Class Act, Inc.  I stamped the wolf then colored it with Copic markers.  To further add to the masculine feel of this card, I used argyle and weave embossing folders.  Because I was too lazy to drag the sewing machine out, I did faux stitching around some of the edges of the card.  This is easily done by using a paper-piercing tool and a marker.  I finished off this masculine card with a corduroy button and a twine bow.
